Age Suitability

Explore the Flags is made for children, with no catches.

Who it is for

Explore the Flags is designed primarily for children ages 6 to 8, the age when kids are reading, counting, and full of curiosity about the world. It is also genuinely enjoyed by older children, teens, and adults, including people with a deep interest in flags and geography. The content is gentle, encouraging, and educational, with nothing scary, violent, or mature.

Safe by design

The app was built by a parent for his own child, and it is held to that standard:

What the app contains

Explore the Flags teaches world geography: the flags, capitals, languages, and native greetings of 195 countries, plus quizzes, flag coloring, an interactive world map, and US state flags. All learning content is bundled in the app and works offline.

About internet use

The app works almost entirely offline. Two optional features use an internet connection:

These are standard requests for public content. The app itself sends no personal information to these services, and a child can use the entire core experience without ever going online.

Privacy for children (COPPA)

Explore the Flags is designed for children and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or from anyone else. The full privacy policy is available on our main page.
